For 2024, both Brandon Do and Cathy Wong continue their commitment to volunteering in the community:
Brandon ( 314.25 hours in sum ) volunteered at:
1. St. Michael Catholic Parish for 165 hours: (i) Early morning setup: Packed groceries; set up for grocery distribution. (ii) Distribution Team: Distributed groceries to the community; post-distribution clean up. (iii) Crab Feed Fundraiser – Served guests and cleaned up. (iv) Backpack project – set up for stuffing backpacks for the back-to-school event.
2. Special Olympics Northern CA for 22.25 hours: (i) 2024 Martinez Bocce Competition – Scorekeeper and measurer. (ii) 2024 Pleasanton Spring Games Regional Competition – Buddy to athlete. (iii) 2024 Summer Games Sports Demonstrations/Expo & scorekeeper for Bocce Event
3. Little Miracles Pleasanton for 18 hours Assisted with donation drop off/sorting & cleaned merchandise; holiday event – set up
4. Livermore Heritage Guild for 2.5 hours to set up and tear down for special events.
5. Partners for Change for 19.5 hours to set up for the event, served guests, and cleaned up.
6. Habitat for Humanity—ReStore for 38.5 hours: assisted customers with purchases; unloaded and cleaned merchandise.
7. Giants Community Fund for 13 hours, where he helped with the Junior Giants Festival by assisting with event logistics and engaging with the kids.
8. Goodness Village for 4 hours Installed anti-slip tape on ADA ramps.
9. TYME—Dougherty Valley High School Music Group (San Ramon) for 22 hours, during which time he practiced, prepared for, and performed music services to senior home communities in the Tri-Valley area of California.
10. National Honor Society for 9.5 hours: (i) Dougherty Valley High School Wrestling Tournament – Served as timer person for wrestling matches; monitored the doors and helped clean up and set up. (ii) 10th Annual Livermore Valley Event – Assembled the start/finish line; assisted runners; helped hand out medals and wine glasses to the runners. (iii) Contra Costa County Food Bank – Sorted food. (iv) HH1 Groove and Glow Bolly Dandiya – Set up before the event.
