Cole this time volunteered 3 times more than in 2023. 278.5 hours, for which he was nominated and received the President’s Volunteer Service Award Gold Level award for his community service at:
- Alameda County Fair: Assisted with guiding seniors around fairgrounds, assisted with showroom displays, monitored booths, and provided guidance.
- Arroyo Seco Elementary: Volunteered in the 5th grade classroom and helped with copying, grading, and prov, and providing art instruction to children.
- Giants Community Fund: Volunteered during their Junior Giants summer fair to assist the underprivileged with instructions, games, field activities and monitoring restricted areas.
- Little Miracles: Assisted with packaging donations for clients, cleaned and sorted received.
- Livermore Valley Arts: Volunteered during summer art camp by teaching an art class, assisting with clean-up/set-up, and helping children each day.
- Open Heart Kitchen: Served meals to underprivileged community members.
- Partners For Change: Served meals to participants at the weekly class.
- Pleasanton Art League: Volunteered at the art show to monitor the art exhibit.
- Shepherd’s Gate: Volunteered at their donation center to sort donations and stock shelves.
- Special Olympics of Northern California: Volunteered at the summer games helping with timing of the swimming events, opening ceremony usher, pickleball/tennis ball people.
- St. Charles: Prepared decorations for vacation bible school and decorated the facilities for the event. Participated as a youth counselor, helping children with games, crafts, and activities.
- St. Michael’s: Volunteered at the Saturday food distribution and break-down after.
- Wreaths Across America: Laid wreaths on the graves of military members.
This year, inspired by her son’s commitment to service, Alicia Gable has also submitted hours to be considered to be nominated by our volunteer committee. Because of her 169.5 hours of service, she was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award Bronze Level award for her service at:

1. St. Michael Catholic Parish – Distribution Team: Distributed groceries to the community; post-distribution clean up.
2. American Cancer Society Discovery Store – Cleaned and organized shelves, assisted with yearly jewelry event, stocked and priced items for shelves, assisted with Christmas event sale organizing items, organized donations boxes in storage area.
3. Little Miracles – Folded and organized donated clothes, toys and books, assisted with holiday event storage room organizing and re-stocking of shelves, setting up for holiday event, painting shelves and putting up additional shelving.
4. Partners For Change – Assist them with their weekly meetings and dinner, clearing tables, washing dishes and setting up tables.
5. Night To Shine – Buddy to a special needs participant for the evening prom event.
6. Sunflower Hill – Weeded the sensory garden, mulched the raised vegetable beds, picked flowers for local food bank tables.
7. Giants Community Fund – Helped local community children and their families with activities including, games, hitting and running bases.
8. First Presbyterian Church – Backpack Project: Helped sort school supplies and fill backpacks for local school children in need.
9. Chest of Hope – Greet customers and help clean and organize shelves and wrap gifts at Treasure of Hope store.
10. Habitat for Humanity – Cycle of Hope Event – Help with take down tables, chairs and tents and clean up of event site.
11. Wreaths Across America – Laid wreaths at the graves of fallen US soldiers in at the Veteran’s cemetery in Tracy, CA.
